Illustration of the process of the diabetes of the type 1 or insulinodépendant diabetes: the cells beta of the pancreas which produces insulin are destroyed by a reaction of autoimmunity. In the absence of insulin the storage of glucose by the liver and the muscles (represented here by smooth muscular cells, bellow on the left) is not possible any more and glucose cannot be used any more by the cells of the system.
