Kawasaki disease. Panarteritis of the distal coronary artery. The intima was destroyed and then replaced and thickened with inflammatory cells. The media (in red) has been partially destroyed and thinned. This arteritis will cause the coronary artery to dilate aneurysm then rupture. Histological section, HES staining, x 25 (24x36 mm format).
