Granite is a crystalline intrusive igneous rock consisting of potassium feldspar and quartz with hornblende and mica as common accessory minerals. Igneous rocks are formed by magma (molten rock) being cooled and becoming solid. The quartz and feldspar are the lighter minerals, and the darker ones are mica and hornblende. |
